Memorial Day 2006
With today being Memorial Day I just wanted to take a minute to remember my grandpa Carter. Last night when mom and myself were looking through things for some pictures it turned into more of a night of memories, which was sad but nice. It's hard to believe he's been gone so long, but it's amazing the impact his life still has on my life. Grandpa was an amazing being. The one thing I remember about him the most was his love for God. He was such a strong christian, and he always believed wholeheartedly that God could and would do anything. I remember after Grandpa died my thoughts were if only I could be the kind of Christian he was, maybe one day, I don't think you get there overnight. Below are some pictures I found of him and thought I would share.

Week 2 (this should have been posted Monday , but it's just been one of those weeks) As all of you know I have been dieting and exercising like a mad crazy woman. OK maybe not that bad. I actually just decided that I had to make some major lifestyle changes, to improve my health, my body, and along the way my spirit just jump on for the ride. Anyway today was weigh in day and I have lost 11 pound this week, that was not a typo I did say 11 pounds. I could not believe my eyes when I stepped onto the scales. I actually would get on and off and the on and off just to make sure they were working right. That make 13 pound total so far. I can't believe it, it feels great. I love the way I feel after I've exercised, it's like it empowers you or something. Peace, Quiet, Stillness and yet why can't I enjoy it..... It's Sunday morning and I have sent my family off to church is why... I am so suppose to be with them but after the last few day I know that I cannot sit through Sunday School and then morning worship.. My body for one is so sore and stiff it would never make it. I feel like a old lady( no offense to anyone out there but this is for the birds). Secondly I fall asleep at the drop of a hat and I believe that would be quite embarrassing. So I sent my Hubby and boys off this morning without me. I knew I had a great husband but he has really proved himself over the last few days (not that he had to). I had my hysterectomy on Thursday morning and so not to interrupt the boys schedules to much I got up early that morning and went over and had my mom drive me to the hospital. I'm amazed at the difference. So I finally got a new scale and I have actually lost a total of 17 pounds over the past 6 or 7 weeks. Some have wanted to see the difference and here ya go the top picture was taken in May at Eli's birthday party. The bottom picture was taken 3 days ago at Sea World with the boys. Boy am I glad I lost the weight and started exercising I never would have been able to do what we have done this week without having done that. The river walk, Sea World, The Natural Caverns, & The Wildlife Ranch. It was all really nice I'll post more picture of our adventure later. Love to all. Beverly!
